Due to its importance in the region, agriculture plays a strategic role in preserving the environment. The Pays Graylois has an interesting architectural heritage and delightful scenery.
However, there are still a number of "black spots" (agricultural buildings, housing in poor condition), which detract from the overall perception of the villages and countryside.
Despite a few inequalities within the region, waste is now being properly treated. However, there is still a great deal of work to be done on sewerage.
There are some inequalities in the treatment of household waste and, more particularly, recycling within the region and certain sectors have to contend with waste collection centres that are too far away. A door-to-door recycling system should be promoted.
